Dear Parents
As you are aware our school calendar is published before the commencement of each academic year and is based on the ISASA approved calendar. Unfortunately, at the time of publishing our 2012 calendars, we did not have the final dates for the NSC examinations and marking sessions from the Independent Examining Board. Upon receiving these dates earlier this term it became apparent that the commencement date for the Matric NSC marking sessions had been brought forward and that these marking sessions would now commence prior to the final school day of the published 2012 Kyalami Schools Group calendar.
More than half of the academic staff at the College are involved in NSC marking at examiner, sub examiner and moderator level and will be required to be off campus from the afternoon of Thursday, 6 December until Friday, 14 December.
As a result, the Kyalami Schools Group has taken the decision to end the academic year for all three schools, on Thursday, 6 December at 11h00 instead of Friday, 7 December.
