FROM THE HEADMISTRESS’ DESK 26 October 2012 - NURSERY SCHOOL PLAN B UPDATE

Dear Parents

NURSERY SCHOOL PLAN B UPDATE

As you know from my letter last week, it was agreed that the School Board would consult with parents regarding the proposal to accommodate the Nursery School children at Beaulieu Prep next year.

A most positive meeting with representatives of parents of our current Grade 2 and 3 children (Grade 3 and 4 in 2013) was held on Tuesday evening and we are scheduled to meet with representatives of the 2013 Grade 0, 00 and 000 parents on Monday.

Of course we are aware that any proposed solution may have an impact on children in other grades too, so we are mindful that proposed solutions must minimize the impact on the school community as a whole.

As promised, the feedback session for all interested and involved parents will be held on Tuesday, 30
October, in the school hall. We have set the time of the meeting at 6 pm to allow those parents who wish to attend the Derek Jackson talk on ‘Transition’ at 7pm to do so.

You may have noticed that there have been workers on the Nursery School site for the past few days. Unfortunately, rather than building, they are there to make the site safe. We have been concerned that because of the forced stoppage, the site was left in a less than desirable state with regard to safety. We have formally requested leave to secure the site and make it safe and the safety inspectors have taken up our cause in this.

I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday and wish you a restful weekend.

Warm regards

MRS N. HILLEN
