Dear Parents
A very warm “Welcome
Back!” to you all. We hope that you have had a wonderful, relaxing holiday with
the children and that you have made many happy memories together.
We too, hope
to make memories of our own this year, and the teachers‟
conference on Monday was abuzz with ideas and plans for the year. 2013 is on
track and looking good!
We extend a
special welcome to our new families. We hope that it will not be long before you
are feeling relaxed and at home here.

Welcome back
to Mrs Fernandes who
returns after her well deserved long leave.
It is great to
have you back at school Mrs Fernandes!
We welcome the
new Nursery School staff and wish them and Mrs
Bain a wonderful first year at BeNs. The
Nursery School is looking FANTASTIC and we know that great times lie ahead for
all involved.
Mrs
Lyn Swales, our bursar, has resigned and will be
leaving us at the end of January. She has been appointed bursar at an ISASA school
in the Waterberg and is looking forward to living „in the bush‟.
Thank you for
a good five years at Beaulieu Prep, Mrs Swales. We will miss you!
The search for
a new bursar is currently underway and we shall let you know as soon as an
appointment has been made.
This term, Mrs
Kemink‟s
Mathematics and Science load will be taken on by Mrs
Gayle Roberts who has locumed for us many times in the
past. Good to have you back for another stint Mrs. Roberts!
Miss
Chené van Wyk also joins our staff as a Teacher Intern

appreciate the time she gives us as she learns the craft of teaching.
We have
appointed teachers to replace Mrs. Kemink, Miss Smit and Mrs

A big thank

school will have 35 iPads for use with our smartboards as a precursor to having
iPads in the classrooms for the children in future years.
We are looking
for a few new members of the PTF for 2013.
Parents are
asked to let Mrs Hillen or
Mr Darran Ledden (PTF Chair:
082 339 5003) know if they would like to make themselves available to join the
PTF. An election will take place in the school hall from 18:40 to 19:30 this

Interhouse
Gala (Grade 3 to 7 pupils)
This compulsory event takes
place on Friday, 18 January from 16:00 to about 18:00. Pupils from Grade 3 to
Grade 7 will be participating. Grade 0 to 2 pupils will
be included in a junior gala in the THIRD term.
Children must
be at school by 15:45 and will gather behind the specialist block to prepare
for the march past. The march past will take place promptly at 16:00.
All pupils
will swim in at least one race. Pupils are expected to wear regulation school
costumes and a house T-shirt. Boys and girls must also wear school swimming
caps. Children should, of course, be smeared liberally with a good sunscreen. We
look forward to our first interhouse event of the year and hope to see as many
parents as possible supporting their children and their team then.
In the event
of bad weather on the day, if you have not received an SMS, please phone the
school after 12:00 and we will let you know if the gala will go ahead. Our
tuckshop will be open during the gala.
