No lessons 3rd dec 2012 - Founders Day / Grade 0 Graduation, Junior & Senior Prize Giving

MONDAY, 3 DECEMBER 2013

Dear Parents

A reminder of the procedure for this special occasion.

As Founders’ Day is on a Monday, our pupils will not need to attend lessons on that day. Attending the ceremony, however, is compulsory for all pupils and they are to arrive, at the correct time, neatly dressed in full summer uniform (NO cap).

Tracksuit tops / Blazers may be worn only if it is cold. However, pupils in Grade 6 and 7 who have full or half colours must wear their tracksuit tops or blazers to S.P. Prizegiving.

Junior Prizegiving and Grade 0 Graduation will be held separately from the Senior Prizegiving as the hall cannot accommodate all our parents, teachers and pupils at the same time.

Junior Preparatory Prizegiving and Grade Nought Graduation :Grade 0 – Grade 3 pupils must
be at school by 16:00 for proceedings to commence at 16:30. Parents of Junior Preparatory children are asked to join parents of Senior Preparatory children, for refreshments under the bell tower, directly after Junior Prizegiving. Children will receive their refreshments in their classrooms during this time.

Senior Preparatory Prizegiving : Grade 4 – 7 pupils and parents are to be at school by 18:00, for refreshments, followed by prizegiving from approximately 18:30.

Dress code: As this is a formal event on our school calendar, we request that parents adhere to the dress code ‘smart-casual’.

Parking: As parking is limited, the following procedures will be implemented :

Invited VIP guests have been issued with parking tickets to park in the school car park. Please present parking tickets at the gate.

Parents are respectfully requested to park in the school car park near the Western Corridor or on the paved area in front of the school. Please do not park on neighbours’ verges or block access to their properties.

Cedar Entrance: We have arranged for the Cedar Road entrance / exit to be open after hours to accommodate traffic. The gate will be closed at 21:00 i.e. after S.P. Prizegiving.

Seating: As seating is limited we respectfully request that only parents attend the ceremonies. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate other relatives and siblings. As this is a formal occasion, we request that alternative arrangements are made for siblings, who are not pupils at this school, as they find proceedings tedious and can become quite disruptive.

Babysitting Service: We are able to provide a babysitting service in the Auditorium this year from 16:00 – 20:30. However we ask that you make use of this facility only if no other arrangement is possible. If your child / ren make use of this service it is essential that they bring a packed snack and something to drink. We have employed two students to supervise the children during this time. Unfortunately this service cannot cater for siblings at Beaulieu College as the age range will already be diverse.

A suggestion: If you have a child in the junior department as well as a child in the senior department at Beaulieu Prep, you will need to be present at both ceremonies. We suggest that you make an arrangement for your younger child to go home with a classmate after the Junior Privegiving. Similarly, your older child could be dropped off at the home of a classmate before the Junior Prizegiving and brought to school in time for the Senior Prizegiving ceremony. We look forward to an enjoyable evening as our school year draws to a close and look forward to
seeing you on this special occasion.

Yours sincerely

MRS. NOËLE HILLEN
